Kettering, Ohio-It’s Friday and time for the weekend. Have you decided what you are doing this weekend? If not, here are some events and activities in and around Kettering that you might want to consider.

Kettering’s final 2021 Saturday Night Cruise-In will take place Saturday, September 25, 2021. The Cruise-in will run from 5:00 P.M. to dark and will take place at the Kettering Towne Center at Dorothy Lane and Woodman Drive. Fall is in the air and that means it's time for the Dayton Fall Fest. This year’s festival will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The fest will be held at 8911 Yankees St., Centerville. Fall Fest is a free family event that will feature a petting zoo, pony rides, carnival games, inflatable bounce houses, a hayride, family crafts, food trucks, rock climbing, and more. If you would like to spend part of the weekend with your furry family members, the Miami Valley Pet Therapy Association is holding its 2021 PetFest Saturday, September 25, 2021. The PetFest is a pet and family-friendly event. The festival runs from 9:00 A.M. to 2 P.M. and will be held at Delco Park in Kettering. PetFest 2021 features a 2K/5K Fun Run/Walk, food trucks, vendors, a Pet Garage Sale, dancing to great music, basket raffles, and pet demonstrations. If you would like to laugh until you cry, take a short trip to Downtown Dayton to visit Wiley’s Comedy Club. This weekend Wiley’s is featuring two events. First Friday, September 24th at 8:00 P.M. and Saturday, September 25th at 7:15 P.M. and at 9:30 P.M. Wiley’s welcomes comedian Ran Barnaclo. Barnaclo is a Cincinnati-based comedian who has won multiple awards and shared the stage with national comedians. On Sunday at 7:15 P.M., Wiley’s will also host its weekly Sunday Comics event. Sunday Comics features a mixture of local amateur comedians and nationally touring professionals working on their craft. Wiley’s is sure to tickle your funny bone! Saint Therese Brass of Little Flower Parish will present a jazz, Broadway, pop vocal standards, and New Orleans Dixieland concert on Sunday, September 26, 2021. The free outdoor community concert will start at 2:00 P.M at David’s Grove, 204 W. David Road, Kettering. Attendees are asked to park at David’s United Church of Christ and walk to the event. The church welcomes donations to benefit its many programs, and concert-goers will be able to purchase treats from Kona Ice Truck. CDC COVID-19 protocols will be followed.

If political action and serving the community is more your style, you might want to join Greater Dayton Young Democrats for their Canvassing Day of Action Sunday, September 26th at 2:00 P.M. The event will kick-off at Irelan Park, 4532 Marshall Road, Kettering, Ohio. The group will be canvassing in support of Democratic candidates Jyl Hall who is running for an at-large seat on the Kettering City Council and Keara Dever who is running for Kettering Municipal Court Clerk.
