Kettering, Ohio - Friday, October 1, 2021, the Kettering Fairmont Firebirds broke their 2-game losing streak on the strength of 21 unanswered 1st quarter points. Kettering added an early 3rd quarter field goal to beat the Miamisburg Vikings 24-6 at Miamisburg. The Firebirds' offense as usual consisted of a steady clock-eating run attack lead by #30 Drew Baker. Kicker Will Holt contributed 3 extra points and the field goal. But the game was largely won on a fantastic defensive effort that included two 1st quarter interceptions and a fumble recovery. One of the 1st quarter interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
