The race for the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) varsity football championship tightened on Friday night.  Going into week  9 of the season the Springfield Wildcats had taken a firm grasp on the Championship when they won the battle of the undefeated in week 8 by beater Centerville 44-7. But Friday, Springfield was knocked off by Miamisburg in a close game. While Centerville survived a hard-fought overtime game with Fairmont and Wayne notched another win, leaving 3 teams tied at the top of the GWOC.
