Kettering, Ohio - In the final week of the regular high school football, the Kettering-Fairmont Firebirds ended on a high note soundly defeating the winless Beavercreek Beavers. In other action, the Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) standings shook out to leave the Springfield Wildcats as regular season conference champs, just barely edging out the Wayne Warriors. The Wildcats and Warriors tied with a conference record of 6-1, but Springfield has a slightly higher overall season win percentage when adding in the teams' non-conference games.

GWOC teams are assigned to Division 1 - Region 2 for the Ohio High School Athletic Association post season tournament. The tournament begins Friday, October 29, 2021, at 7:00 P.M.

Except for the impact that their regular season records have on tournament seedings, next week all GWOC
