Proceeds from the party are going to benefit the 501(c)(3) non-profit Extra Life. Extra Life was founded in 2008. The organization currently has over 100,000 gamers raising money for sick and injured children. To date, Extra Life says that they have raised over $87 Million.
Gamers can raise funds through Extra life either individually or as teams. Extra life has several programs to recognize top fundraisers. One program is that they maintain leaderboards on their website for both individual and team fundraising leaders.
