Kettering-Fairmont Firebirds varsity football season ends, but two Greater Western Ohio Conference teams advance to second round of playoffs

Kettering, Ohio - The Kettering Firebirds traveled to the Toledo area Friday for their first round play. Unfortunately, the Firebirds' matchup against Perrysburg didn't go well, and the Firebirds season has ended. Seven GWOC teams competed in the first round of the Ohio High School Athletic Association playoff tournament, but only two advanced to the second round.  Here are the results from Friday's games for each of the 7 GWOC competitors

Perrysburg - 14
Kettering-Fairmont - 0

Findlay - 28
Miamisburg - 26

Dublin Coffman - 27
Wayne - 24

Centerville - 34
Springboro - 14

Springfield - 47
Northmont - 7

The wins by Springfield and Centerville sets up a rematch between the two GWOC teams. Springfield won the two teams' week 8 matchup 44-7. The Centerville and Springfield round two playoff game will be Friday, November 5, 2021, at 7:00 P.M. in Springfield. To purchase tickets for the game go to https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets.
