Kettering police arrest man in connection with Kettering shooting

Kettering, Ohio – The Kettering Police Department (KPD) announced November 30, 2021, that officers arrested Delando Keon Massey, a 22-year-old black male. KPD says that they arrested Massey in connection with the shooting incident that took place Monday, November 29, 2021, at 5701 Montgomery Square, Kettering. KPD charged Massey with Felonious Assault (F2). Kettering Jail records show that Massey was booked into custody Monday, November 29, 2021, at 7:19 P.M.



KPD previously released the recording of the 911 call that was made regarding the shooting that KPD says Massey is linked to. In the 911 call, the caller reported hearing an argument between several individuals in an apartment. The caller also said that they saw a physical fight between two light-skinned black males. The caller said the fight appeared to be about a female in the apartment. The 911 caller also told the 911 operator that one of the males took out a gun a shot the other male. The caller stated that the victim appeared to be shot in the hand and had blood in the torso area of his body. The caller also said that the victim appeared to be moving okay and returned to the apartment. The 911 call also indicated that the alleged shooter left the scene following the incident.

In a press release, the KPD stated that when officers arrived at the scene, there was no sign of either the alleged shooter or the victim. Although KPD announced that Massey has been arrested in connection with the shooting, the Department has not stated how Massey is connected with the incident. In addition, KPD has not yet identified the victim of the incident.
