Kettering to host community garage sale

Kettering, Ohio – Is your house or garage filled with things you would like to get rid of? If so, the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department has an event that might help.

The Department is hosting a community garage sale. Kettering is actively recruiting vendors for the garage sale. The Department says that the community garage sale is an event where residents can turn unused items into cash.

The event will be held Saturday, April 30, 2021, from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Vendors will gather at the Kettering Recreation Complex, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420.

to sign up to be a garage sale vendor. The sign-up form will ask for your name, address, phone, and email. You will also need to know how many booth spaces you want. Each booth comes with one six-foot table and 2 chairs. Booths are $20 for Kettering residents and $25 for non-Kettering residents. The form also has a section to pay for booth fees with a credit card.

If you believe that you will need more than one table, you can bring extra tables. The event will also have a limited number of extra tables available for rent at $5 each. Those tables must be reserved in advance and are available on a first-come-first-served basis. The Department also says that all tables and merchandise must remain within the confines of the space the vendor is assigned. So, make sure you rent enough booths to accommodate the merchandise you want to sell.

Kettering says that event space is limited and advises residents to sign up as soon as possible to make sure you can get a space. The sign-up form indicates that residents are not guaranteed a space until their fees are paid. The Department will send you a confirmation letter about your community garage sale booth resident once your payment is processed. Once completed, applications can be returned to the Charles Lathrem Senior Center, Attention Jennifer Giessler, 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420. Set up for the Saturday, April 30, 2022, community garage sale will be Friday, April 29th, 2022, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. or Saturday the 30th from 7:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M.

Kettering says that vendors can sell virtually anything from craft supplies, decorations, books, outdoor gear, and many other miscellaneous items. In fact, they say “…one person’s junk might be someone else’s treasure!” However, Kettering reminds vendors that all clothing, bedding, and other soft items must be cleaned or laundered before they are made available for sale.
