The Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Arts Department is recruiting for a temporary part-time Fitness Specialist. The Fitness Specialist performs such duties as:
- Enforces the use of the facility with rules and policy;
- Provides exceptional customer service giving the customer an overall great experience;
- Solves any customer experience related issues and communicates resolutions to supervisors;
- Oversees the fitness center and uses educational background and other relevant training to accurately and safely answer member questions related to health, fitness, and wellbeing;
- Performs a walk-through of the fitness center for cleanliness, safety, customer engagement, and rule/policy implementation;
- Communicates facility, equipment, and safety issues to supervisors;
- Keeps desk space organized and cleans the fitness center area and equipment as assigned;
- Delivers first-aid and incident documentation as necessary;
- Creates program-specific workout routines for individual patrons;
- Conducts orientations to members of the facility, showing them how to properly and safely use the fitness equipment;
- Keeps the fitness center picked up and assures all weights and equipment are placed in the correct locations;
- Cleans fitness equipment to keep it in clean working order.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma or GED. Applicants must also be certified in CPR and First Aid. The City says that they are also looking for candidates who are customer service oriented and can project a positive and professional image. The pay rate is $10.55 per hour. Kettering’s Engineering Department is also looking to hire a Traffic Signal Technician. The Traffic Signal Technician performs journeyman-level field and workbench repair of complex electronic traffic signal equipment. Kettering is looking for an individual with exceptional computer, electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, and fiber optic cable skills. The candidate must also be knowledgeable in municipal traffic signal systems and software. Traffic Signal Technicians operate motorized equipment, including bucket trucks. The position also requires 24-7 callouts in all kinds of weather. Pay ranges from $61,693 to $79,664 annually. The Kettering Municipal Court Clerk’s Office is looking for a part-time Deputy Clerk. This recruitment is only open until December 20, 2021. The Deputy Clerk assists the public, law enforcement, attorneys, and court staff with customer service and administrative support for traffic, criminal, and civil cases. Deputy Clerks must be computer proficient and comfortable working with people both in-person and via the telephone. The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, significant customer service experience, the ability to work as part of a team in a diverse fast-paced environment, good spoken and written English, and business math skills. The position announcement also says that candidates must “…possess honesty and integrity of the highest standard…” The position salary is $14.00 to $27.00 per hour based on experience.
