THE NEON Theatre Launches Annual Year of End Campaign - A 25th “Silver Streak” Anniversary

DAYTON, OH — November 13, 2025 THE NEON, the region’s premier independent arthouse cinema, is excited to announce the launch of its End-of -Year “Silver Streak” Campaign to raise needed funds to further invest in the theatre’s future while honoring 25 years of cinematic innovation, community connection and cultural benefit.

The campaign invites our dedicated patrons and donors — individuals, businesses, foundations — to join THE NEON in securing the next chapter of its mission: continuing to bring independent, international, and documentary film to greater Dayton; expanding community-engaged programming; and ensuring the preservation and upgrade of this beloved cultural landmark in the Miami Valley.

Why Now?
As we step into 2026, it’s more important than ever to keep independent cinema alive and accessible in our community, meet the expectations of our audiences and ensure THE NEON remains Dayton’s go-to destination for independent films. Also, as we celebrate the 25 years since we brought two screens to THE NEON, 2001 marked another major milestone for us — Jonathan McNeal and Diana Cordero joined our team that same year, quietly shaping a new era of care, connection, and curation. For a quarter century, they’ve worked behind the scenes making everyone’s experience at THE NEON a special one -- welcoming audiences, supporting filmmakers, and holding space for stories that inspire, provoke, and unite.

Today, THE NEON is far more than a theater. It is a cinematic home where voices that might never be heard elsewhere find their audience, a hub where partnerships spark creativity and learning, and a gathering place where Dayton comes together to laugh, reflect, and dream. Every event, every festival, every student showcase is a chance for our community to draw close, to be inspired, and to belong. As we celebrate this milestone in the theater's history, we are excited to embark on our Silver Streak Campaign — honoring our past and investing in the stories yet to come.
